Screen Shot 2015-02-14 at 4.03.58 PM This $2,500 grant will help former foster children who age out of the system at 18 to set up their own homes with donated furniture and housewares, so that they can realize their talents and skills.
Aquarium of the Pacific This $10,000 grant will be split: $5,000 to support the Aquarium Scholarship Fund, specifically covering Aquarium admission for approximately 400 students, education program fees, program evaluation, and project management costs, and $5,000 to support the Ocean Science Education Program and, in particular, sharing “Aquarium Live” via telecasts with Child Life Centers at Miller Children’s, CHLA and Mattel Children’s Hospital.
BoysGirlsClub This grant of $5,000 will be used to advance the STEM program at the Boys and Girls Club in Wilmington.
CHLA-Butterfly-Logo-2_300 WYCF issued a $10,000 challenge grant to members of the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital to donate money for the purchase of books for the “Literally Healing” program at CHLA, which provides new books for patients and siblings. PCCH met the challenge, donating $10,250, and WYCF gifted $10,250 for a total of $20,500.
comfortzonecamp This $2,500 grant will provide scholarships for CA children who have experienced a significant loss, so that they may grieve and heal together in a fun and safe place, as they attend camps for grieving children.
GHRlogo no tag This $5,000 grant is to support restoration efforts at the Golden Heart Ranch, a unique social living club for individuals with intellectual and development disabilities.
harborinterfaithservices This $5,000 grant is to be used by HIS to expand the after-school and summer school programs, which provide safe havens for children of low income, employed parents.
helpinghands This $5,000 grant will be used to provide ongoing support for a young man, who is a quadriplegic as a result of a car accident, and his monkey helper Kasey, as well as train other monkey helpers.
ica_logo This $5,000 grant is to be used to support music classes within “Learning and Achieving Through the Arts”, the flagship school-day program –providing sequential music instruction to 400 K-8 skid row area LAUSD students and 16 classroom teachers. This exposure to music emphasizes listening, personal reflection, vocabulary and collaboration                 and enhances the students’ general educational experience and chances of success.
Journey_Out_Final_Logo_Web This $4,300 grant is to provide 3 prevention groups for 135 girls and 4 one day/one session workshops for an additional 140 girls. The prevention groups are 6 sessions each, for at risk girls, ages 11-18, with the goal of educating and providing skills to girls at risk of being commercially exploited or who have been victimized by sex trafficking. The prevention groups target middle and high school LAUSD students, recognizing that a “victim can be anyone’s daughter.”
logo1 This $1,500 grant is to advance the efforts of Las Candalistas on behalf of children and the environment in our community.
madd This $1,000 grant to Walk Like MADD will support educational efforts regarding the dangers of drinking and driving and serve the victims of this violent crime.
MFP Logo CMYKvect2 This $5,000 grant is to support “The Shift” program at this safe haven for homeless teenagers. This course supports employment-related skill development, job readiness and successful entry into the workforce. This course provides case management, supportive services, work-related skill building and 150 hours of onsite experiential learning.
nationalcharityleague This $10,000 grant will fund 12 college scholarships: 4 for high school graduates and 8 for continuing college students, all of whom have demonstrated academic success and great financial need.

pediatrictherapynetwork This $10,000 grant was used to sponsor Camp Escapades Summer 2017 so that children and families will continue to benefit from this program and volunteers’ career paths will be influenced by the opportunity to work and interact with these special children.
peninsulacommitteechildrenshospital This $2,500 grant will support a new endowment at CHLA that benefits orthopedic and gastroenterology patients.
providencelittlecompanyofmary This $5,000 challenge grant will incentivize donors to the Little Company of Mary Giving Tuesday fundraising efforts.   All money raised will benefit the Women and Children’s Campaign; specifically, the tiniest patients in the NICU–via state-of-the-art equipment, improvements to the 20 single-family rooms or enhancements to the family lounge.
Rainbow-Logo-Square_400x400 This $5,000 grant is to be used to fund development courses so staff can better help children cope with the trauma of domestic violence.
Red Star Riders* WYCF friend Harrison Mills raised $5,000 and WYCF added $5,000 to make a total donation of $10,000 for specialized adaptive tricycles for deserving kids who have encountered physical limitations and health obstacles. The bikes develop strength and confidence and promote inclusion.
longbeachronaldmcdonald This $1,500 grant is to support the 2017 Walk for Kids and RMH efforts to provide a “home-away-from-home” for ill children and their parents.
sandiegomesa This $5,000 grant will be used to provide 6 scholarships for deserving students who are pursuing a career in child development, teaching, and/or related fields involving children, as they complete studies at Mesa JC or transfer to a four-year institution.
SF_logo_hrz_rgb_new This $5,000 grant is to be used to sponsor 10 or more students for the 2018 Summer Youth Development Academy, a week long camp at Cal State Univ. Dominguez Hills. The YDA supports the positive development of underserved middle and high school students by linking them with mentor/role models, healthy activities, and a network of supportive peers. YDA focuses on developing 21st Century skills to help prepare students to be leaders in their schools, neighborhoods, and community at large.
sbchc logo This $5,000 grant will provide mental health services for teens in our community who do not have access to care.
lachallenge This $5,000 grant will assist with scholarships for economically disadvantaged children from the greater Los Angeles area so that they can experience a private-school education. Donations fund tuition, supplies, tutoring and mentoring support with the goal of promoting educational achievement in an optimal school environment.
sunshinekids This $5,000 grant will enhance the quality of life for children with cancer by providing them with positive group experiences so that they can do what kids are supposed to do–have fun and celebrate life.
download This grant of $7,500 supports Food for Kids – a program that delivers non-perishable food, $26 per bag, to 290 Title One elementary school children in the Carson, Compton, Long Beach, San Pedro, Torrance, and Wilmington school districts. The food is to be consumed over the weekend by these underserved kids so they don’t arrive hungry at school on Monday.
logo27 This $5,000 grant will be used to sponsor young amputee children for the 2018 Kids Camp for ages 8-15. This softball camp, organized by Wounded Warriors with amputations, for children with amputations or missing limbs, is life-changing for the kids–who are exposed to great role models and whose self-esteem is forever changed.
